The InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has launched a comprehensive Nusa Dua rejuvenation project in Bali to modernize infrastructure and ensure the resort remains globally competitive.
- The overall project is in Week 18 with approximately 15% total completion.
- Water Blow access and Peninsula Island development have reached 75% completion.
- Upgrades include new wedding venues, rainwater catchment units, and improved public facilities.
Infrastructure Upgrades and Progress
The development effort, coordinated by ITDC, focuses on making the resort area more organized and responsive to the needs of international events and high-quality tourism.
According to Nusa Dua General Manager I Made Agus Dwiatmika, progress varies across different sectors. While Water Blow and Peninsula Island development are well advanced, the Gate AC access road to Peninsula Island is 30% complete.
Wastewater installation, infiltration, and Ground Water Tank (GWT) work are currently at 12% completion, though officials state these tasks are not lagging behind schedule.
Enhancing the Visitor Experience
The rejuvenation of Peninsula Island aims to improve both aesthetics and infrastructure. Current work includes the construction of road access and rainwater catchment units in the bay area.
New supporting facilities are also underway, including tourist restrooms and massage parlors designated for community groups. ITDC has emphasized strict construction quality control and material procurement to maintain progress.
Significant changes are coming to the Water Blow area, which will feature a new wedding venue, a dedicated stage area, and the installation of andesite stone for the pedestrian paths.
Event Integration and Accessibility
Despite the construction, visits to Water Blow and Peninsula Island remain open. ITDC reports that disruptions have been kept to a minimum and nearby hotels and resorts are not affected.
The region continues to serve as a venue for major events, recently hosting the 2026 Adhyaksa International Run on April 26. Dwiatmika noted that such events strengthen the area’s appeal as a leading destination for sporting events.
Further community activities are planned for later this year, including the Culture Run Bali on July 26, 2026. This open-level event on Peninsula Island is intended to celebrate Balinese culture and environmental awareness.
