VCE 2025: Honour Roll

A total of 578 students in Victoria, Australia achieved the highest possible study score of 50 in at least one subject this year, according to recent data from the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) results.

VCE Results: High Achievers and Subject Performance

Forty students earned perfect scores in two subjects, four students achieved three perfect scores, and one student from Ruyton Girls’ School received four perfect scores.

Students can appear on the honour roll for achieving a score of 40 or higher in final-year subjects in Year 10 or 11, in addition to Year 12.

A total of 2672 students achieved a score of 40 or higher this year, with 2672 also achieving at least one score of 40 or higher last year. An additional 27 students gained a 40+ score as far back as 2023.

Subject Scores

Subjects with large numbers of students often see over 1000 high-achieving scores. English saw 3144 students achieve a score of 40 or more, followed by General Mathematics with 2310, Mathematical Methods with 1235, Psychology with 1174, and Business Management with 1116.

In some second language subjects with smaller student populations, only a handful of students achieved scores of 40 or higher. This included one student each in Bengali, Polish, Russian, and Swedish.

Approximately 10 percent of students enrolled in VCE subjects opt out of having their details published, meaning not all students who achieve a score of 40 or above are reflected in the honour roll.

The Age will publish an interactive focusing on overall school results on Saturday, including each school’s median VCE study score and the percentage of study scores that were 40 or above. On Tuesday, December 23, an interactive will be published allowing searches of first-round tertiary offers, and a table on the Campus section will be updated with minimum selection ranks for 2026 courses.
