/ The Israeli authorities announced that no ceasefire will be implemented before tomorrow, Friday, not even the release of detainees in Gaza.

Israeli National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi said (Wednesday evening) that none of the prisoners detained in Gaza would be released before Friday, while the truce was expected to take effect and the first release operations would begin on Thursday.

However, this official did not explain any reasons for this postponement, at a time when Israeli, American and regional officials reported that the scheduled release of 50 prisoners held in Gaza along with 150 Palestinian prisoners and the cessation of fighting had been postponed hours before it was scheduled to begin today, Thursday.

They revealed that this delay of at least a day is related to the list of names that Hamas presented to Israeli officials.

A US official said that while the movement provided the names, gender and nationality of most individuals, there was a lack of information about some of the 50 hostages, which complicated and delayed their release.

A White House official also explained that the parties involved in the prisoner release deal are working on developing “final logistical details” for the first day of implementing the agreement, according to the American newspaper “The Wall Street Journal.”

In turn, Adrienne Watson, spokeswoman for the National Security Council at the White House, pointed out that from an American point of view, nothing should be left to chance as prisoners begin to return to their homes, stressing that the primary goal is to ensure that they return to their homes safely.

She confirmed that this goal is on the right track, and hopes that implementation will begin on Friday morning.

Meanwhile, senior Egyptian officials reported that the Hamas movement did not receive a detailed list of the first group of prisoners scheduled to be released, nor did it officially sign the mechanism for the process, especially since the agreement called for the release of the 50 detainees in stages over a period of 4 days.

In addition, this obstruction is a development in the drama surrounding the 236 prisoners held by Hamas and other activists in Gaza since the October 7 attack on Israel, which also resulted in the death of more than 1,200 people, as their families await news of their release after pressuring the Israeli government to accept a deal. About that.

Israel and Hamas agreed to a prisoner release agreement earlier this week, with the expected 4-day ceasefire leading to the return of 50 detainees held by the movement to Israel in exchange for 150 detained Palestinians.

Under the agreement, the Palestinian factions must submit a detailed list of prisoners in the evening before they are released to Egypt, where they will be handed over to Qatar and Israel.

The list is then supposed to be handed over to the Red Cross responsible for receiving them the next day.

Once physical verification is conducted by the Red Cross and Israel, they will then be transferred to hospitals in Israel for examinations.

It is noteworthy that Israel launched an unprecedented military campaign on the Gaza Strip, killing more than 14,100 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in response to the sudden Hamas attack on October 7, which killed 1,200 in Israel. The movement also detained 240 people.
