<p>Microsoft is collaborating closely with hardware manufacturers (OEMs) and driver developers to raise the quality standards for device drivers. This collaborative effort aims to address common stability issues and improve the overall reliability of Windows 11.  Specific improvements target more stable Bluetooth connections, a reduction in USB-related crashes, streamlined printer discovery, more dependable camera and audio connections, and consistent device wake behavior when using docking stations.</p>

<p>Windows Hello, Microsoft’s biometric authentication system, is also being refined. Updates will focus on improving the reliability of facial recognition and accelerating fingerprint sign-in speeds. <p>Microsoft is fundamentally changing how Windows Update manages restarts. The goal is to consolidate monthly updates into a single reboot, minimizing disruption to the user workflow.  Users will also gain greater control over the update process, with the ability to pause updates indefinitely and to shut down or restart their devices without being forced to install pending updates immediately. </p>

<h3>The Return of the Taskbar</h3>
<p>Responding to user feedback, Microsoft is reinstating the ability to reposition the Windows 11 taskbar. Users will once again be able to move the taskbar to the top or sides of the screen, a feature that was notably absent at the operating system’s launch.  Additionally, smaller taskbar size options will be introduced, providing further customization.</p>

<h3>Reducing Intrusiveness: Copilot and Ads</h3>
<p>Microsoft is actively reducing the presence of Copilot and advertisements within the Windows 11 experience. Copilot integrations have been removed from several applications, including Notepad, Photos, Snipping Tool, and Widgets.  Furthermore, the number of ads displayed in the Recommended section of the Start menu will be reduced, and users will have a straightforward option to disable them entirely through Start settings.  Widgets are also being redesigned to be less intrusive, with simplified settings to disable the feed and minimize notifications.</p>
