Woman Arrested After High-Speed Police Chase and Attacking Officers with Objects

A high-speed pursuit across County Armagh ended Wednesday with the arrest of a female driver after a 15-minute chase that stretched through multiple towns. Police reported that objects were thrown at pursuing vehicles during the ordeal, while the suspect allegedly drove at speeds exceeding double the legal limit in a car stolen earlier that evening.

Stolen Vehicle Triggeres Portadown Intercept Attempt

The incident began in Portadown on Wednesday when local officers tried to stop the motorist. Authorities confirmed the automobile used in the evasion had been taken earlier in the evening from the Newry area.

Fifteen-Minute High-Speed Chase Through Multiple Towns

The suspect’s route took her through Lurgan, Waringstown, and Banbridge. Throughout the 15-minute pursuit, the driver was clocked moving at speeds over double the legal limit.

Tactical Contact on the A1 Dual-Carriageway

To stop the driver from heading the wrong way toward members of the public, specially trained pursuit officers executed tactical contact with the vehicle. The intervention unfolded on the A1 dual-carriageway near Banbridge, according to the PSNI’s Mahon Road Road Policing Unit and local district officers.

Multiple Charges Following Suspect Arrest

A spokesperson stated that the driver was arrested for a number of driving offences, including drink-driving.

During the chase, the suspect was also observed throwing objects out of the car towards pursuing officers, according to official statements.
