A woman sustained minor injuries after jumping from a moving vehicle in Klang on May 1, allegedly after feeling uncomfortable with a parcel-hailing driver.
North Klang police chief S. Vijaya Rao stated that the 47-year-old driver filed a police report regarding the incident on May 2.
The event occurred near a petrol station in Taman Eng Ann while the driver was transporting two passengers.
According to police, the female passenger suddenly opened the rear right-side door and jumped out while the vehicle was still in motion.
The driver stopped the vehicle immediately and discovered the woman had sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Investigation into Parcel-Hailing Incident in Klang
Investigations revealed the woman was anxious and feared for her safety, alleging the driver had been watching her through the rearview mirror without a proper reason.
Following the incident, a passing motorcyclist transported the woman to a nearby clinic for treatment.
Police stated the driver lodged the report for self-protection against potential future issues.
The case has been classified under Section 336 of the Penal Code, and authorities are currently working to locate the passenger.
