Woman’s body found in car at University Hospital Limerick

A woman in her 50s was found dead in a car on the grounds of University Hospital Limerick on Sunday morning.

The body was discovered at approximately 11 a.m. in a parking area near the entrance to the hospital’s emergency department.

Gardaí are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to determine the course of their investigation.

According to a Garda source, investigators are currently not suspecting foul play and are exploring the possibility that the woman died from a medical emergency.

The coroner has been notified. Gardaí responded to a report of the discovery in Dooradoyle, Limerick, on March 15th, 2026.

The HSE Mid West was contacted for comment but did not respond.

It is currently unknown how long the body had been in the car before emergency services were alerted.
