Rain and gusty winds are expected to affect parts of Sindh, including Karachi, on February 17, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. The weather system will also bring potential thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms to other regions of the country.
Weather Forecast for Pakistan: February 16-17
The Met Office forecasts rain, wind, and thunderstorms across various regions of Pakistan from February 16 to 17. Isolated hailstorms are possible in northern Balochistan, Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab during the same period.
Balochistan is likely to experience light to moderate rain with strong winds and thunderstorms in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Chaghi, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Noshki, Harnai, Zhob, Kalat, Mastung, Barkhan, Sibi, Loralai, Khuzdar, Kech, Turbat, Panjgur, Gwadar, Awaran, Kharan, Pasni, Ormara and Lasbela from the evening of February 16 through February 17, with occasional breaks.
Sindh may receive rain and strong winds in Dadu, Hyderabad, Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad and Khairpur on February 17.
Southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Waziristan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Kurram, may also see light to moderate rain and thunderstorms during the same period.
The department advises farmers to protect standing crops and urges the public to exercise caution during dust storms and heavy showers.
