The scale of the demand is reflected in regional data: more than 18,000 tickets were sold on BookMyShow within just one hour of bookings opening.
While standard ticket pricing in many regions remains accessible—ranging from ₹100 to ₹800—the fervor in Bengaluru has pushed costs significantly higher. India.com noted that some premium seats at Cinepolis Nexus Shantiniketan reached ₹2,500, with many early shows selling out despite the premium pricing.
Release Delays and Production Adjustments
The path to the July 23 premiere was not straightforward. Originally intended for a Pongal release earlier this year, the film faced substantial hurdles, including a prolonged standoff between the producers and the Indian film certification authority. The film also contended with an online leak before it was officially certified. Ultimately, the movie received an ‘A’ certificate, marking Vijay’s first film to receive such a rating since 2002’s Bagavathi.

Narayana confirmed that several modifications were made to the final cut, including adjustments to songs and the addition of references to Vijay’s political party, TVK. next to his name.
