Juris Vītols Joins Ogre for Two Seasons

After spending the previous three seasons with Rīgas Zeļļi, point guard Juris Vītols has decided to move to Ogre. This transition marks a new chapter for the young playmaker as he continues to navigate his professional career alongside his obligations to the National Defense Service.

The club’s management expressed confidence in the acquisition, emphasizing their familiarity with the player’s history in the Latvian basketball circuit.

The Motivation Behind the Move

For Vītols, the decision to sign with Ogre was influenced by both professional familiarity and the club’s logistical support. He specifically pointed to his existing relationship with the coaching staff as a key factor in his commitment.

I have played for coach Artūrs Visockis-Rubenis before, and, in my opinion, we already know each other well. Performance Metrics and Team Outlook

Vītols’ contribution to his previous team was consistent across both the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League (LIBL) and the Latvian Basketball League (LBL). During the most recent season, he averaged 5.1 points and 2.7 assists per game in 18 LIBL matches. In his LBL appearances, he averaged 4.4 points and 1.6 assists over 11 games.

The addition of Vītols is viewed by Ogre’s management as a vital boost to their backcourt. Sirsniņš noted, I am sure that Juris will be a very significant addition to our outer line.
