Los Angeles Rams Unveil Fearsome White and Classic Sol Alternate Uniforms

The Los Angeles Rams unveiled two new alternate uniforms on July 23, 2026, at a fan event in Inglewood. The “Classic Solhonors the team’s 1951 NFL championship, while theFearsome White” pays tribute to the iconic defensive front of the 1960s and early 1970s. Both kits will debut during the 2026 season.

Classic Sol: Honoring the 1951 Championship

The “Classic Sol” uniform marks the 75th anniversary of the franchise’s 1951 NFL title, the first major pro sports championship won by a professional sports team in Los Angeles. According to the team’s official announcement, the design features a yellow jersey paired with white pants, incorporating era-specific number styling and three blue shoulder stripes.

To ensure authenticity, the design team opted for satin numerals, a material that reflects the aesthetic of the 1950s but presented technical challenges in a modern era. Because the fabric lacks the stretch of contemporary polyester, the stripes are individually sewn to prevent tearing.

Fearsome White: A Tribute to the 1960s Defensive Line

Complementing the historic yellow kit is the “Fearsome White” uniform, which draws inspiration from the legendary defensive front of the 1960s and 1970s. The uniform features an all-white jersey with blue numerals and blue rams horns on the shoulders.

The uniform celebrates the Fearsome Foursome—Deacon Jones, Rosey Grier, Lamar Lundy, and Merlin Olsen.

“To see the Los Angeles Rams uniforms that we wore 60 years ago on the playing field now, reminds me of the importance of being a team player. We selflessly prioritized the team’s collective success over individual stats or personal glory. As strong teammates, we supported each other through the inevitable ups and downs of the NFL season. Whether we had those uniforms on or off, we were accountable teammates, trusting each other to do our job flawlessly.”

The Rams have scheduled the debut of both alternate uniforms for high-profile, primetime home games at SoFi Stadium.

Cory Befort, the Rams’ creative executive director, noted that the game day environment at SoFi Stadium will be tailored to each uniform, including custom field paint and stenciling to create an immersive world for fans to experience throughout the season.

Design Intent and Fan Reception

The introduction of these alternates follows years of fan requests for throwback-inspired designs. While the team updated its primary uniform combinations in 2020 and 2021—and introduced a black “Midnite Mode” uniform last season—the new additions are explicitly intended to educate newer supporters about the team’s long-standing history in Southern California. The project has been in development for two years, as noted by Sports Illustrated.

Beyond the jerseys themselves, the team has also updated its branding, introducing a new Rams wordmark featuring a curved “R” styled to mimic a ram’s horn. With the addition of these two sets, the Rams’ current wardrobe now expands to five distinct uniform combinations. As the team prepares for the 2026 season, the focus remains on the upcoming schedule and the potential for a championship run at SoFi Stadium, which is slated to host Super Bowl LXI.
