Lava Virat V1 Series: Dual Launch Strategy
Lava has introduced two new handsets, the Lava Virat V1 5G and the standard Lava Virat V1, both aimed at the sub-12 thousand rupee segment. The 5G variant features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the UNISOC T8200 processor. The company has integrated 4GB of physical RAM with an additional 4GB of virtual RAM, providing a total of 8GB of memory for multitasking. For storage, the device includes 64GB of internal space, which can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card.
According to the company, both phones are scheduled for their first sale on July 31 at 12:00 PM on Flipkart. Lava clarified that the introductory pricing applies only to the first day of the sale, offering a ₹1,000 discount. Beyond the display and battery capacity, the devices include an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, a feature aimed at protecting the hardware during light rain or dusty conditions. Photography is handled by a 13MP AI dual rear camera system designed for improved image processing.
HMD Vibe 2 5G: Entry-Level 5G Expansion
HMD has expanded its footprint in the Indian budget market with the HMD Vibe 2 5G. Positioned as the successor to the previous year’s Vibe 5G, the new model runs on Android 16 and utilizes an octa-core Unisoc chip clocked at up to 2.3GHz. The device features a 6.7-inch HD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is available in three color finishes: Cosmic Lavender, Nordic Blue, and Peach Pink.

Anuj Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer at Xiaomi India, stated that with the Redmi 15C 5G, the company’s objective was to create a phone that provides an effortless experience for everyday users. He further remarked that the combination of a large immersive display, a reliable all-day battery, and a refined, premium design reflects the way people currently use their phones to watch content, learn, and work.
The device features a 17.53cm HD+ display with an AdaptiveSync refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a 3D quad-curved back design. Xiaomi highlights the battery efficiency, with the company claiming users can enjoy up to 23 hours of video playback or 106.9 hours of music. The phone also supports 33W fast charging, includes a 33W charger in the box, and provides 10W reverse charging. The device offers up to 16GB of total RAM via memory expansion and supports up to 1TB of expandable storage.
Software features include smart tools such as Circle to Search and Google Gemini integration. Additionally, Xiaomi interconnectivity features—including call sync and shared clipboard—allow for content transfer between Xiaomi smartphones, tablets, and PCs. The Redmi 15C 5G is available in three colors: Moonlight Blue, Dusk Purple, and Midnight Black.
