More than 37,000 concertgoers at Boston’s Fenway Park received free cruise vacations for two from the Zac Brown Band on August 2, 2026. Valued at nearly $40 million, the massive giveaway celebrated the band’s record-breaking 15th consecutive sold-out show at the historic venue in partnership with Margaritaville at Sea.
Concert crowds usually take home ticket stubs, t-shirts, and lingering memories. Fans attending the Zac Brown Band performance at Fenway Park on Sunday, August 2, 2026, walked away with something considerably more substantial: a fully paid vacation at sea for themselves and a loved one.
The surprise announcement came during a milestone evening for the country group, which celebrated its 15th consecutive sold-out show at the historic Boston ballpark. Lead singer Zac Brown dropped the news to an estimated 37,000 audience members just before launching into Same Boat
, his collaboration with the late Jimmy Buffett.
Fenway Park Crowd Stunned by $40 Million Surprise
The scale of the giveaway immediately caught the audience off guard. Organizers and band representatives confirmed the total value of the vouchers approaches $40 million, making it what representatives described as the largest audience gifting in live entertainment history. Giant screens around the venue displayed a number for fans to use to sign up for the giveaway as fans absorbed the reality of the announcement.

“Tonight we’re going to do something that even Jimmy would say is crazy. I’m buying every single person here a cruise for two people on the boat. This is the biggest giveaway in history ladies and gentlemen, right here tonight at Fenway Park!”
Zac Brown, lead singer of the Zac Brown Band
Concertgoers expressed a mix of disbelief and amusement following the show. Some attendees admitted they initially suspected an elaborate prank, while others weighed whether a cruise vacation fit their usual travel habits. Fans who signed up for the promotion have a 12-month window to redeem their vouchers on select sailings.
Partnership With Margaritaville at Sea and the Beachcomber Ship
The massive giveaway serves as a centerpiece of the band’s ongoing Love & Fear Tour, which features Margaritaville at Sea as its presenting sponsor. Throughout the 27-date tour running through November, the band has routinely given away four cruises per show. The Boston stadium stop, however, scaled that promotion up to cover every single ticket holder in attendance.
Fans redeeming the vouchers will board the cruise line’s newest vessel, the Beachcomber, which is scheduled to make its debut in January 2027. The ship incorporates a dedicated live music venue also named Same Boat
, which was co-designed by Brown as a tribute to his musical history with Buffett.
“We were honored to work alongside Zac to help bring this incredible surprise to life for his fans. This was an extraordinary way to thank the fans who have supported him throughout his career, and we’re proud to have helped make that incredible vision a once-in-a-lifetime reality.”
Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea
A Historic Record at Fenway Park
The Boston engagement cemented a long-standing relationship between the band and the venue. Having made its debut at the ballpark in 2014, the group holds the record for the most consecutive sold-out performances at Fenway Park and was inducted into the Fenway Music Hall of Fame in 2022.
