The Mahasangh points to that project as a cautionary tale, noting that audiences objected to creative choices regarding the portrayal of Ravana’s army and Lanka, which many felt diverged from traditional beliefs. The organization claims it has already received information suggesting Ramayana Part 1 might include scenes that could offend the Sanatan community and those involved in traditional Ramlila performances.
