Tech enthusiasts watching Apple’s product cycles are looking at a convergence of milestone leaks spanning the 20th anniversary of the device next year’s iPhone Pro models and the immediate rollout of new flagship generations. While case manufacturers and supply chain leaks point to continuous display evolutions for standard models like the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro matching a 6.3-inch footprint, long-range leaks are already plotting massive form-factor shifts for the 20th anniversary.
Twentieth-Anniversary iPhone Pro Display Dimensions and Design Leaks
Marking two decades since the original smartphone debut, Apple is reportedly preparing a radical redesign for its high-end devices. Leaker Digital Chat Station reported that the upcoming iPhone Pro is tested at 6.4 inches, up from the current 6.3-inch dimension introduced in 2024. Meanwhile, the larger Pro Max variant is slated to reach 7 inches, growing from the current 6.9-inch standard.
These larger displays will not merely stem from shrinking black borders. The devices are expected to feature bezel-free, quad-curved displays that wrap around the edges, accompanied by a reduced or entirely eliminated Dynamic Island cutout for an all-glass appearance. Despite the larger screen diagonals, both units are projected to maintain the aspect ratios of their predecessors.
Performance Leaps, 2nm Architecture, and Battery Capacity Upgrades
Beneath the exterior modifications, immediate hardware adjustments are taking shape. Reports indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro series will debut Apple’s A20 Pro chipset built on a 2nm manufacturing process. Early estimates point to performance gains of around 15 per cent, alongside as much as 30 per cent better power efficiency compared to previous generations.
Apple is also reportedly utilizing TSMC’s Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module (WMCM) packaging technology. This method places memory closer to the processor to enhance bandwidth and assist artificial intelligence features. Power capacity is also receiving attention, with tipster Ice Universe indicating that the Chinese version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max could feature a 5,500mAh battery, creating a thicker chassis measuring around 9mm and weighing close to 240g.
Competing Android Strategies and Global Pricing Shifts
While Apple refines its display cutouts and shrinks its Dynamic Island by as much as 35 per cent, competitors are carving out entirely new form factors. Samsung is preparing a brand-new size category for its next-generation lineup. According to a report from the Korean site ETnews and reporter Kim Young-ho, Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Pro is scheduled to feature a 6.47-inch display size that the company has never attempted before.
