Aga Khan $100M Fights Global Malnutrition & Hunger

The Aga Khan has pledged $100 million over the next five years to combat malnutrition in South and Central Asia, Eastern Africa, and Syria, joining His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s “Edge of Life Campaign.” The commitment more than doubles the Aga Khan’s previous efforts to address global malnutrition.

Aga Khan Pledges $100 Million to Fight Malnutrition

The announcement was made in a message of solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and its Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Aga Khan’s representative expressed condolences for those impacted by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and voiced hope for a swift and peaceful resolution.

The pledge recognizes the vision and generosity of Sheikh Mohammed and others working to alleviate suffering and prevent malnutrition worldwide. The Aga Khan’s commitment will support efforts to save lives and improve the health of millions.

His Highness the Aga Khan stated, “Malnutrition remains one of the greatest barriers to human development, undermining the health, potential and dignity of millions of children and families. Addressing this challenge requires sustained commitment and collective action. I am honoured to join His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, and all the partners he has gathered, in supporting efforts to ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow, to thrive and to contribute to their communities.”

The initiative aims to prevent malnutrition and support the development of children and families in vulnerable regions.
