Aida S. Budiman has been selected by House of Representatives Commission XI to serve as Bank Indonesia’s Senior Deputy Governor for the 2026–2031 term, securing her upcoming leadership role following a formal evaluation process in late August 2026.

“We selected them through consensus, and we will schedule their appointment at the DPR RI plenary meeting on September 1, 2026,” Mukhamad Misbakhun stated

This parliamentary review stems from a broader leadership slate submitted by President Prabowo Subianto. Juhro alongside M. DPR leadership subsequently assigned Commission XI to vet all four candidates before scheduling the upcoming plenary vote.

Aida’s path to the central bank spans more than thirty years of institutional service, underpinned by rigorous academic training in agricultural economics and monetary policy. Born in Bogor in 1965, she initially completed her undergraduate studies at Bogor Agricultural University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Socio-Economics and Agribusiness in 1987, as noted on Bank Indonesia’s official website. She later pursued advanced degrees in the United States, obtaining a Master of Economics from the University of Southern California in 1996 and a PhD in Economics from Claremont Graduate University in 2001.

Throughout her tenure at Bank Indonesia, Aida has concentrated heavily on monetary policy frameworks, economic analysis, and international engagements. Before stepping into her current executive role, she directed major divisions within the institution. She led the International Department from 2014 to 2018 before taking charge as the Executive Director of the Department of Economic and Monetary Policy in 2018.
