Team Europe captain Anna Nordqvist has named Leona Maguire, Mimi Rhodes, Julia Lopez Ramirez, and Nastasia Nadaud as her four wildcard picks for the 2026 Solheim Cup. The 12-player European squad will face the United States at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands from September 11 to 13.
Anna Nordqvist Completes Europe’s 12-Player Roster With Four Wildcards
Team Europe has its complete lineup for the upcoming continental showdown in the Netherlands. Captain Anna Nordqvist finalized her squad by selecting four wildcard picks, blending seasoned matchplay experience with rising tour talent to challenge the United States at Bernardus Golf.
The wildcard selections cap off a qualifying period that concluded following the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes. Nordqvist opted against naming herself to the playing roster, choosing instead to focus entirely on her captainial duties as Europe looks to reclaim the trophy after falling short in Virginia two years ago.
Leona Maguire Returns for Fourth Appearance on European Squad
Ireland’s Leona Maguire secured her spot as a captain’s pick despite missing four cuts in her last six tournaments. The 31-year-old Cavan golfer will make her fourth Solheim Cup appearance.
Nordqvist relied heavily on Maguire’s stellar historical record in team competition when making the selection. Since making her debut five years ago—where she earned four and a half points out of five—Maguire has amassed eight wins, one half, and just three losses across 12 total matches.
“Leona has proved herself at the Solheim Cup, she has a huge passion for the European team and her record speaks for itself. She is a player you want on your team especially in matchplay and I’m thrilled to pick her.”

Maguire’s recent form included a top 10 at the Scottish Open, though she missed the weekend cut at the AIG Women’s Open.
“I love the Solheim Cup, it brings the best out of my game and I love being part of the team. I can’t wait to represent Europe for the fourth time and to be back on European soil.”

Three Rookies Earn Debut Selections for Team Europe
Alongside Maguire, Nordqvist added three debutants to the squad: England’s Mimi Rhodes, Spain’s Julia Lopez Ramirez, and France’s Nastasia Nadaud. Their inclusion means Europe will feature four rookies in total, counting Farnham’s Lottie Woad who earned automatic qualification.

Rhodes, 24, starred for Great Britain and Ireland in their 2024 Curtis Cup victory at Sunningdale before turning professional. She secured three victories on the Ladies European Tour last year.
“Being part of the Junior Solheim Cup in 2019 showed me what this team means, and to now be selected for the 2026 Solheim Cup is beyond anything I imagined.”

Lopez Ramirez enters her debut Solheim Cup appearance during her first season on the Ladies European Tour and her second season on the LPGA Tour. Nordqvist praised the 23-year-old Spaniard as a passionate, powerful ball-striker who will inject high energy into the locker room.
Nadaud rounds out the wildcard picks following a standout campaign that included her first Ladies European Tour victory at the season-ending Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana, followed by earning her LPGA card and making the cut in all five major championships during the 2026 season.
Automatic Qualifiers Round Out the 12-Player Lineup
