/ US President Joe Biden said today, Saturday, that he believes that the Hamas movement’s attack on Israel last October 7, in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, was inspired by diplomatic progress in the region, especially with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to normalize its relations with Israel. , which was stimulated by his administration, while he confirmed his intention to complete the railway line from the Middle East to Europe, which will include Israel and Saudi Arabia.

According to what was reported by the American newspaper The Hill, Biden explained, “I believe that one of the reasons behind the Hamas attack is that they knew that I was working very closely with the Saudis and others in the region to bring peace to the region by recognizing Israel and Israel’s right to exist.” What he said.

The American President continued: “You may remember when we witnessed the G20 summit a while ago, and that we will build a railway from Riyadh across the Middle East from Saudi Arabia to Israel all the way to Europe. Not only railways, but underground pipes.”

Biden continued, saying: “There is great interest (in this project), and I believe that most Arab countries know this, and are coordinating with each other in order to change the dynamics in the region through long-term peace, and this is what I will continue to work on.”

Biden described the initial hostage release as “the product of extensive US diplomacy and numerous contacts with world leaders in the region, including the Emir of Qatar, the Israeli Prime Minister, and the Egyptian President,” and thanked them for their efforts and “personal partnership” during the arduous negotiations that lasted for weeks. He indicated that he will remain in close contact with the leaders to ensure that the agreement remains on the right track.

Biden also stressed the importance of the two-state solution in order to “bring peace to the region in the long term.”

In this context, the US President added: As we look to the future, we must end this cycle of violence in the Middle East. We need to renew our resolve to pursue a two-state solution, where Israelis and Palestinians can one day live side by side in a two-state solution in equal measure. Of freedom and dignity, two states for two peoples, this is more important now than ever before.”

Biden considered that “things related to the truce in the Gaza Strip are going well so far,” explaining that Washington “worked urgently to reach it and release the hostages.”

On Friday morning, a 4-day truce took effect between the Israeli occupation and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the first truce since the start of the war in which thousands of martyrs fell several weeks ago.

On Saturday, November 25, more Palestinian and Israeli prisoners are expected to be released on the second day of the truce between Hamas and Israel.

Qatar was the main mediator, along with Egypt and the United States, and reached a truce agreement for 4 renewable days, during which 50 prisoners detained in Gaza would be exchanged for 150 Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, and hundreds of trucks loaded with humanitarian, relief, medical and fuel aid would be brought into all areas of the Strip. .
