Crab Attack! Weather Reporter Hospitalized After On-Air Mishap

A weather presenter required a trip to the hospital after being bitten by a crab during a live broadcast. The incident occurred when the presenter was asked to give the crab a kiss on air.

Crab Bite During Live Broadcast

The co-host, Michael Atkinson, asked the presenter to give the crab a kiss. As she reached to peck the animal on its head, the crab latched onto her finger.

“Ah, it’s got my finger!” she exclaimed as the crab continued to hold on. “Let me go!”

A seafood handler attempted to separate the crab from her finger while the presenter tried to remain calm and laugh through the pain. Co-hosts watched in shock as they tried to pry the crab’s mouth open.

“Oh no,” Michael said as the presenter struggled, alternating between screams and laughter. Alison Piotrowski, another co-host, later stated the presenter was doing fine and would provide an update later in the program.

The presenter later appeared with her hand submerged in cold water, confirming she would be going to the hospital. “I’m still in shock,” she said, adding that it took a significant amount of time to get the crab to release its grip.

According to a co-host, a metal rod was used to pry the crab’s claw open. Despite the pain, the presenter remained in good spirits and joked, “Surely I get a free crab out of this.”
