Riyaad Adendorf Missing: Family Seeks Public Help
Riyaad Adendorf, 24, was reported missing on January 2 after leaving his home at 10 p.m. His sister, Celesthea Pierang, stated that he was crying when he left the house.
Pierang explained that she was visiting her sister in Kraaifontein to care for her children when she received a message around 4 p.m. informing her that Riyaad had left the house earlier that morning. He hugged his mother and shook his father’s hand, appearing distraught, according to Pierang.
“His dad followed him and asked him where he was going and Riyaad said ‘ek gaan gou deur’ thinking that he most probably went to Kraaifontein as his ex-girlfriend lives there,” Pierang said.
Adendorf left in his silver Toyota Tazz but took none of his belongings. His sister contacted his ex-girlfriend, who confirmed they had an argument on New Year’s Eve but stated he was not with her, and that they had already broken up.
Colleagues and friends have been unable to reach Adendorf, reporting that his phone is switched off. Pierang shared details of his disappearance on Facebook, and several people reported seeing him in Chestnut Place and Delft on Sunday.
Those who reported seeing him in Chestnut Place said he was with another man. After attempting to locate them, they were told Adendorf was on his way home, but he has not yet returned.
A missing person case has been opened at Elsies River SAPS. The family is urging anyone with information to contact Celesthea Pierang at 064 664 3278.
