The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated Tuesday that 100% of its critical and essential pre-war targets in Iran will be destroyed by Wednesday. This represents the completion of the destruction of the top two categories of pre-war targets, which constitutes around 60-70% of all pre-war targets in the Islamic Republic.

“Critical” targets were defined as those posing an immediate threat to Israel, including ballistic missile industry sites and key objectives related to the ongoing conflict, such as remaining nuclear-related facilities. “Essential” targets encompassed a broader range of Iranian military industrial complex assets, which, while not presenting an imminent threat, were considered vital by Iran for maintaining its military capabilities.
Examples of “essential” targets include satellite launch and attack platforms, as well as research facilities crucial for long-range weapon capabilities and countering Israel’s strategic advantages in satellite technology.
The remaining 60-70% of pre-war targets relate to aspects of the Iranian military that are part of its long-term, non-strategic operations. These targets do not currently pose an immediate threat to Israel nor are they essential to the production of strategic weapons.
Military sources indicated that the IDF could potentially end the war at this point, having achieved its objectives against Iran’s military. However, they added that further economic and operational targets could be engaged if the conflict continues, causing additional harm to Iran’s military and economic power.
Despite the progress made, the IDF has not been able to completely halt Iranian ballistic missile fire, and anticipates that Iran will be able to maintain a rate of 5 to 20 missile launches daily for an extended period.
