Iran’s Top Diplomat Backs Supreme Leader – No Issues

Iran’s foreign minister stated Saturday that there are “no problems” with the country’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, following reports from U.S. officials that he was wounded.

Mojtaba Khamenei’s Condition Confirmed

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told MS NOW’s Ayman Mohyeldin that Khamenei “sent his message yesterday, and he will perform his duties.” This comes after U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said Friday he believed Khamenei “is wounded and likely disfigured.”

Iranian officials have previously confirmed reports that the new leader is wounded, but have not provided further details.

Khamenei, 56, has not been seen in public since an airstrike killed his father, Ali Khamenei, the previous supreme leader, and several key family members.

On Thursday, Khamenei issued a written statement saying his wife, sister, her child, and his brother-in-law were killed in the strike. He vowed to avenge their deaths, and emphasized Iran’s potential to disrupt the region by impacting oil supplies and utilizing regional proxies.
