/ Prominent Lebanese politician Walid Jumblatt confirmed that Lebanon will not be drawn into war against Israel, indicating that the Israeli government wants to displace the largest possible group of Gaza’s Arabs.

In an interview with the “Best Saying” program broadcast by Russia Today (RT Arabic) channel, Jumblatt pointed out that “after the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, the Israeli reaction was indiscriminately bombing civilians and soldiers, then massive losses reached civilians, children, and buildings, and buildings and neighborhoods were leveled to the ground… The Israelis told the people of Gaza to go to the south. The poor people of Gaza left for the south. Today, the Israelis want to attack the south and Rafah. Where will these people go under the bombing, to any safe place?

He stressed that “practically, the Israeli government wants to displace the largest possible amount of Gaza’s Arabs out of Gaza, voluntarily or intentionally. That is, we have repeated the tragedy of 1948, when 700 to 800 thousand Palestinians were displaced to Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza.”

In response to a question: Is Israel trying to kill as many Palestinians as possible? Jumblatt said: “This is what the scene would look like if these countries (neighboring countries Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria) along with the countries sponsoring the aggression, led by the United States and the West, were able to demand a ceasefire.” It is serious and not humanitarian, as happened over the course of a week to enter into political negotiations, but up to this moment and based on the statements of the Israeli government, it means the continuation of the war of killing and extermination against the Palestinian people.”

He pointed out that “a temporary and limited humanitarian truce is worthless and opening a crossing is worthless. Look at what happened to the hospitals, what will happen in Rafah, and the tragedies… There are 16 thousand dead or more,” stressing that “the United States can restrain Israel.” If she wants, because she is the one who supplies weapons and bombs and gives money to Israel… if she can.”

He added: “The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Mr. Hassan Nasrallah, spoke twice and said that there is a front supporting Hamas and the Palestinian people from Lebanon… And I said at the time and insisted that we will not be drawn into war against Israel… This is my opinion, but until this moment there is respect for the rules of the game.” But who is the military leader in the world who entered the war and knew how to get out of it? There is no one,” considering that “it is not easier than pulling the trigger, and it is not more difficult than telling the bullet to come back.”

Jumblatt pointed out, “There are no rules of engagement in the agreement between Hezbollah and Israel. There is a ceasefire that took place in 2006, and Resolution 1701 was issued. We must all respect the UN resolution because if this resolution is violated, the international forces will withdraw, and we are at this moment facing a situation.” A complete war, and this is not in the interest of Lebanon and is not in the interest of any of the leaders in Lebanon or in the region.”

He believed that “the two-state solution, from my point of view, is difficult, if not impossible, for a simple reason. The West Bank is also being violated by the settlers and there is a gradual aging of the lands,” indicating that “if the major powers agree on the two-state solution, then an international conference must be held to sponsor a solution.” The two countries take into account that there are more than 700,000 armed settlers in the West Bank who surround the unarmed people of the West Bank without weapons.

And whether the Arab countries can influence the regional decision? Jumblatt said: “I say to some Arab countries that some do not learn from some of the lessons of the past. But in order to avoid more calamities that may come to the Arab world, for example the displacement of the majority of the population of Gaza to Sinai or Egypt, And the displacement of the people of the West Bank to eastern Jordan. This is a national and national catastrophe, and this is an attempt to eliminate the Palestinian cause.”

He continued, saying: “The Palestinians who lived in safety with the Jews and the Arabs who had no hostility towards the Jews are paying the price of Nazism and European fascism, and when the West comes out with the slogan ‘Beware of fighting Semitism’, the West forgets that Ismail, the grandfather of the Arabs, and Isaac, the grandfather of the Jews, are cousins… We are Semites too.” .
