A Ghanaian man, Alex Asante Antwi, collapsed and died at the Mankessim Lorry Station in the Central Region after entering a public toilet facility, according to eyewitness reports.
Details of the Incident
Eyewitnesses stated that Alex Asante Antwi was traveling when he stopped at the station and went to use the restroom. He suddenly slumped to the ground moments later.
Bystanders rushed him to the nearest hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Those present searched his pockets and discovered his Ghana Card, identifying him as Alex Asante Antwi. They were also able to contact a relative by dialing numbers on his mobile phone.
Family Errand and Subsequent Grief
The relative informed those present that Alex had been sent on an errand by a family head to deliver news of another family member’s death to relatives in Ansaade, near Adwumako Asiamah. He tragically died before completing this task.
The incident has caused distress among residents and commuters at the busy transport hub.

The death of Alex Asante Antwi follows the recent passing of Richmond Mensah, a Ghanaian nurse who died at his residence in Southend, United Kingdom. Samuel Acquah, a theatre nurse at the Southend University Hospital, was survived by a wife and two children.
Previously, a Ghanaian student, Nana Agyei Oduro Ahyia, died in Latvia under mysterious circumstances, prompting his family to demand justice. He was found dead on June 4, 2025, after allegedly falling from the sixth floor of his apartment in Riga.
