Motorists are being urged to delay their journeys or use alternative routes following a major crash on the N3 southbound near Peter Brown Drive in Pietermaritzburg.
Multi-Vehicle Collision Closes N3 Southbound
Emergency services, including the Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI), are currently on the scene. Initial reports indicate that a primary crash triggered a series of secondary collisions, involving several vehicles and trucks.
An RTI vehicle was also damaged during the incident.
The southbound carriageway remains closed while emergency teams manage the scene and clear the wreckage. The extent of injuries is not yet known.
Traffic is expected to be heavily affected in the area, and motorists are advised to avoid the route until further notice.
