Natural Light launched the “CoolShed” on July 14, 2026, a solar-powered, walk-in beer cooler designed for backyard storage. U.S. residents aged 21 and older can enter the sweepstakes through July 31, 2026, for a chance to win the shed and $15,531.60 in beer money.

As summer temperatures climb, Natural Light has unveiled a new, unconventional cooling solution targeted at its core consumer base: the CoolShed. The structure is a walk-in cold storage unit powered primarily by solar panels mounted on its roof. According to the company, the device aims to solve a specific seasonal problem for homeowners who spend their time on outdoor projects.

The brand is promoting the CoolShed through a national sweepstakes open to U.S. residents 21 and older. One grand prize winner will receive a fully constructed shed—which features 250 cubic feet of refrigerated space and heavy-duty shelving—along with a prepaid card containing $15,531.60.

While the brand markets this cash prize as a “lifetime supply” of beer, the figure is specifically calculated to cover the cost of two 24-packs of Natural Light per month for 35 years. The company notes that the first 500 eligible entrants will also receive a $15 prepaid card. Participation is restricted in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Maine, Texas, and West Virginia.

Marketing Strategy and Brand Positioning

The CoolShed is the latest in a series of novelty outdoor products from the brand, which is owned by the Belgium-based beverage multinational AB InBev. The company has recently leaned into “backyard culture,” previously releasing the Treadmower—a treadmill designed to simulate the experience of mowing a lawn—and Lawn Brew, a fertilizer mixed with spent beer grain.

“With many summer activities centered around backyard projects, cookouts, and time with friends, we wanted to create a refreshing solution to a relatable seasonal challenge: how to keep ice-cold beer in reach when temperatures rise,” said Krystyn Stowe, head of marketing for the Busch and Natural Light family of products at Anheuser-Busch. “Natural Light has always been about celebrating those hardworking moments in the backyard, and the CoolShed brings that spirit to life by rewarding the effort with an ice-cold Natty.”

Stowe emphasized that the product was developed to ensure fans have access to ice-cold beer when the job is done after spending their days mowing, fixing, building, and grilling. The brand also noted that even standard garage refrigerators can struggle to maintain temperatures during extreme summer heat waves, framing the solar-powered shed as a reliable alternative.

Entry Requirements and Deadlines

Interested participants must submit their entries by Friday, July 31, 2026. Entries are processed through the brand’s official website at NaturalLight.com/CoolShed. The company confirmed that the shed is insulated with an aluminum composite and utilizes high-capacity monocrystalline solar panels to maintain its internal climate.

The launch comes as the brand—originally introduced by St. Louis–based Anheuser-Busch in 1977—continues to navigate a competitive light beer market. While the brand earned a bronze medal at the 2008 World Beer Cup, its current marketing focus remains heavily weighted toward experiential, lawn-centric sweepstakes designed to engage its existing audience during the hottest months of the year.
