A person is in critical condition following an assault in central Christchurch on Monday afternoon, and one person is in custody.
Christchurch Assault Leaves One Critically Injured
Emergency services responded to reports of a “grievous assault” on Fitzgerald Ave around 12:20 p.m. on Monday.
Police confirmed one person was taken into custody at the scene.
St John Ambulance responded with an ambulance and a rapid response unit. A spokesperson for St John said one patient, in critical condition, was transported to Christchurch Hospital.
Footage from 1News showed a property cordoned off, with clothing visible on the driveway.
