President Prabowo optimistic on Board of Peace Gaza plan

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed optimism Thursday regarding the Board of Peace initiative aimed at achieving peace in Gaza, following his attendance at the Gaza Board of Peace Summit in Washington, D.C.

Board of Peace Offers Hope for Palestinians

“Let us look at the future plans. They seem very serious. We are determined for the Board of Peace to succeed because it offers hope for peace,” Prabowo said.

The president acknowledged that achieving a peaceful solution for the Palestinian people would be challenging, stating that various obstacles had been anticipated from the beginning. “Although I conveyed in my brief statement that there will be many difficulties ahead – various obstacles and challenges – we must remain determined to achieve success for the Palestinian people,” he said.

Prabowo stressed the importance of strong determination from all parties involved in the Board of Peace to support the Palestinian people. He also underscored the commitment of Muslim-majority countries participating in the initiative’s establishment.

At a meeting of eight Muslim-majority countries, all agreed to work towards lasting peace. “For us, the only real and long-lasting solution is the two-state solution,” Prabowo stated.

Indonesia has previously reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution as a path to lasting peace.

Prabowo has also condemned violence in Gaza while reaffirming support for a two-state solution.
