Plymouth homes evacuated over WW2 device with 400m cordon in place

Emergency crews are working to facilitate the evacuation of approximately 1,260 households located within a 400-meter safety cordon.

Police, supported by volunteers from multiple organizations, are continuing door-to-door visits. These efforts are intended to provide residents with information and encourage them to leave their homes for their own safety.

Status of Household Evacuations

The Youth and Community Centre has opened its doors to provide shelter for those displaced. The council reports that the center has already supported more than 50 residents requiring additional help.

As part of these support efforts, approximately 25 households have been placed in temporary accommodation. The center remains open.
