President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed the Indonesian government’s commitment to an extensive Indonesia education investment, prioritizing large-scale school renovations and the modernization of classroom facilities to ensure the nation’s future resurgence.
- Infrastructure Target: Approximately 288,000 schools to be repaired by 2028.
- Tech Upgrade: Every classroom to be equipped with an Interactive Flat Panel (IFP).
- Digital Strategy: A central studio in Jakarta will broadcast top-tier teachers to students nationwide.
Infrastructure Revitalization Goals
Speaking after monitoring Cilacap 1 State High School in Central Java on Wednesday, the president stated that the government will accelerate the revitalization of schools across Indonesia.
The administration reported that 17,000 schools were renovated in 2025, with plans to revitalize another 70,000 by the end of this year. An additional 100,000 schools are targeted for renovation during 2027 and 2028.
Digital Integration and Classroom Technology
To modernize learning, the government plans to equip every classroom with a smart board or interactive flat panel (IFP). Because many schools currently possess only one or two units, the government is pushing to provide three additional IFPs per school this year.
This initiative is designed to make teaching more interactive and streamline access to digital syllabuses, enabling both students and teachers to review lessons more easily.
Centralized Learning Hub
President Prabowo further explained plans to establish a central studio in Jakarta. This facility will house top-tier teachers who will connect with students across the country through the IFP network.
The president highlighted that this system will allow native speakers to provide instruction in English and Mandarin, with the goal of making students proficient in several foreign languages.
