Prince Andrew has moved out of Royal Lodge following pressure from King Charles, relocating to an undisclosed address on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. The move comes after recent revelations in U.S. Department of Justice files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Relocates from Royal Lodge

A source confirmed Andrew’s relocation from the Windsor mansion to the King’s Sandringham estate. Charles reportedly asked his brother to expedite the move amid concerns over the latest disclosures in the Epstein files.

Andrew is expected to be allowed to return to Royal Lodge to pack remaining belongings and attend appointments near his former home. Building work has begun on Marsh Farm, Sandringham, which is slated to be his future residence, though an “interim” property has been secured for him on the estate.

The move occurred late Monday evening, three days after the release of three million pages of documents pertaining to the U.S. investigation into Epstein. These documents included a photograph of Andrew on all fours over an unidentified woman lying on the floor.

Andrew gave notice on the lease for Royal Lodge in November after a dispute with the King. Following revelations about his friendship with convicted sex offender Epstein, Charles stripped Andrew of his titles and privileges.

He was driven 132 miles to Sandringham and spent time at Wood Farm cottage. A friend of Andrew’s stated that the latest Epstein files made it clear it was time for him to leave Royal Lodge, and he chose to do so under the cover of darkness to avoid a public farewell.

The Times previously reported that Andrew had not paid rent on the property for two decades, only a “peppercorn rent” after an initial deposit. The process of removing Andrew from Royal Lodge, the former home of the late Queen Mother, has taken approximately two years.

In 2024, Andrew declined advice to move out of Royal Lodge. Friends of the King indicated that the move could be handled “tidily or untidily.”

Police are reviewing a claim that Epstein sent a woman to Andrew’s home “for sexual purposes” in 2010, though this review does not necessarily indicate a criminal investigation will be launched.
