Despite wintry weather conditions, several events are planned across Latvia this weekend, offering both indoor and outdoor entertainment options.
RIKŠI Celebrate 15 Years in Rēzekne
The post-folklore group “RIKŠI” will celebrate 15 years since their first performance on Saturday at 18:00 at the GORS arts centre in Rēzekne. The group, featuring Ērika on accordion, Madara on violin, Ivar on bass guitar, Mārčis on mandolin and Jurģis on drums, has performed in cities and villages throughout Latvia.
Attendees can expect a lively performance with songs to listen to, sing along with, and dance to. A clip of RIKŠI performing a few years ago can be viewed here.
‘American Latvians’ Play in Liepāja
The Liepāja Theatre will stage a performance of the play Amerikas latvieši (‘American Latvians’) on January 11th. The play explores the lives of a Latvian community in America, and their dual identity as both US citizens and Latvians.
