Street Fighter 6 Season 4 Launches With New Character Yasmine and Balance Patch

Capcom officially launched Street Fighter 6 Season 4 on August 2, 2026, introducing Yasmine as the first DLC character of the season and implementing a comprehensive balance patch for all 30 playable fighters. The update, which required server maintenance from 8 p.m. PDT to 12 a.m. PDT on August 2, marked a shift in the game’s seasonal structure, as Yasmine arrives without accompanying World Tour content for the first time.

Season 4 Begins With Yasmine and Roster-Wide Balance Adjustments

Yasmine’s Introduction and Season 4 Structure

Yasmine’s inclusion as the first DLC character of Season 4 signals a departure from previous years, where the final character of the prior season typically launched with seasonal updates. Eventhubs noted that the new structure eliminates the need for new World Tour content, as Yasmine will not be available as a “Master” in that mode. However, players can still learn her fighting style through the Avatar Arcade mode, which was introduced with Ingrid in May 2026.

The update also confirmed no new mechanics or features for Season 4, aligning with statements from Street Fighter Director Takayuki Nakayama. Eventhubs quoted Nakayama as saying, We don’t plan to add any new mechanics to Street Fighter 6, though early gameplay hints suggested Drive Rush mechanics would remain largely unchanged.

Server Maintenance and Availability

The August 2 maintenance period, which lasted approximately four hours, temporarily disabled online features such as matchmaking, the Battle Hub, and the in-game store. Eventhubs emphasized that online features will remain unavailable until the period is complete, with players able to download the update during maintenance. The patch notes, available on the official Street Fighter website, detailed character-specific adjustments and system-level refinements.

Despite the focus on balance, the update did not introduce new features like the Avatar Arcade or online match modes, which were launched earlier in 2026 with Ingrid’s arrival. Eventhubs noted that past years saw the launch of seasonal balance updates with the final character of the prior season, making Season 4’s structure a “marked shift” for the franchise.
