Stupid Never Dies Launches October 21, 2026, via SEGA Partnership

Independent studio GPTRACK50 has announced that its zombie-centric action-RPG, Cgmagonline, will launch globally on October 21, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. The game will release in Japan the following day, October 22. The studio also revealed a co-publishing agreement with SEGA, which will handle worldwide publishing and distribution for the title.

Gameplay and Narrative

Set within a monster-ruled otherworldly dungeon, the game puts players in control of Davy, a shy and introverted zombie residing at the bottom of monster society. The narrative follows Davy’s quest to bring a frozen human girl named Julia back to life. To achieve this, players must defeat enemies, level up, and collect strange items to increase their strength.

The combat system allows players to steal abilities from various enemies, including ghosts, werewolves, vampires, and demons. Players can further customize Davy’s undead body using otherworldly and “wacky” upgrades. A new trailer released by the studio introduces Phoenix Zaza Hotfeathers, described as a mysterious entity-zombie protagonist that players will encounter during their descent.

Editions and Pricing

The game will be available in two primary versions:

Development and Soundtrack

GPTRACK50 was founded by veteran action game developers, including president Polygon.com, who previously worked on Capcom titles such as Resident Evil 6 and Dragon’s Dogma. Kobayashi stated that working with an experienced publisher like SEGA has been “invaluable” as the studio brings the first of many planned games to players, describing the project as an ambitious title with original gameplay systems.

The game features a “hard-hitting” pop-punk soundtrack. Two official theme songs will be available for streaming on August 4 via Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, and other major platforms. These tracks are vocalized by the protagonists and include:

  • Opening Theme: “Stupid Never Dies,” performed by Davy and Julia.
  • Ending Theme: “Restless, Reckless, Never Die, Fearless,” performed by Davy.

The game’s October 21 launch date places it in a crowded release window. According to Wccftech, it launches on the same day as Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Resonance. Other nearby releases include Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse on October 15 and Phantom Blade Zero on October 29.
