TCS CEO K Krithivasan announced Friday that the company has established an oversight committee to review an investigation into its Nashik unit following allegations of religious coercion and sexual harassment of employees.
- An oversight committee chaired by independent director Keki Mistry will review the investigation.
- Deloitte and legal counsel Trilegal have been appointed as independent advisers to the internal probe.
- Preliminary reviews of internal ethics and POSH channels revealed no complaints of the alleged nature.
Internal Investigation and Oversight
The internal probe is being led by President and COO Aarthi Subramanian. The findings from this investigation will be presented to the oversight committee for review and the implementation of recommendations.
Krithivasan stated that the company acted swiftly upon learning of the case and has suspended the employees currently under investigation pending the inquiry’s outcome.
While detailed reviews are ongoing, the CEO noted that a preliminary examination of company records and systems did not uncover any complaints related to these allegations through official ethics or POSH channels.
Clarifications on Staff and Operations
TCS addressed reports regarding a specific employee who had been repeatedly identified as an HR manager. The company clarified that the individual is a process associate who holds no leadership responsibilities and is not responsible for recruitment.
Additionally, the company dismissed reports that the Nashik unit had been shut down, stating that the facility continues to operate normally.
Company Commitment and Legal Cooperation
In a statement, TCS emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of misconduct or coercion. The company asserted its commitment to the safety, dignity, and well-being of all employees across its locations.
TCS has pledged full cooperation with law enforcement agencies to ensure the matter is investigated transparently and brought to a rightful conclusion.
Earlier this week, Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran described the allegations emerging from the TCS Nashik case as “gravely concerning and anguishing.”
