Tcs Nashik: ‘Not a major scandal’: Uncle of accused in TCS Nashik case says ‘scripted conspiracy by Bajrang Dal’ | Nashik News

A relative of an accused employee has alleged that the sexual harassment and religious coercion case at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) unit in Nashik is a “scripted conspiracy” orchestrated by the Bajrang Dal.

  • Seven employees, including six men and one female HR manager, have been arrested across nine cases.
  • A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing complaints from eight women employees.
  • The National Commission for Women has established a fact-finding committee to examine the matter.

Allegations of Conspiracy

Speaking on the matter, the uncle of one of the accused claimed that the case is being exaggerated and lacks strong evidence. He alleged that the families involved are being troubled as part of a plot, stating that the Bajrang Dal was involved after being called by the victim’s family.

The relative further asserted that the situation is not a “major scandal” as portrayed, but rather a minor matter that has been unnecessarily highlighted through a scripted narrative.

Legal Proceedings and Charges

A Nashik court on Thursday remanded two accused individuals in police custody until April 18. These two individuals were arrested Wednesday after previously being held in judicial custody in a related case.

The police have booked the accused under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, specifically sections 74 (outraging the modesty of a woman), 75 (sexual harassment), and 79 (word, gesture, act or object intended to insult the modesty of a woman).

Investigation into TCS Nashik Case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to address complaints filed by eight women employees. These women allege mental and sexual harassment by senior colleagues and claim their initial reports were ignored by the HR department.

Additional allegations include attempts at forced religious conversion and insults to religious sentiments.

Corporate and Regulatory Response

Tata Consultancy Services stated it maintains a “zero-tolerance” policy regarding harassment and has suspended the employees accused in the case.

Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran described the allegations as “gravely concerning and anguishing.” He confirmed that a detailed internal investigation is currently being conducted under COO Arathi Subramanian.

Nashik police have issued a warning to media outlets and social media accounts against revealing the identities of the victims, noting that such disclosures are a criminal offense and cause immense anguish to the affected parties.
