Teenage Apprentice Dies After Alleged Workplace Assault Involving Air Compressor

A 15-year-old boy in Turkey has died from severe internal injuries sustained in what authorities are investigating as a brutal workplace assault. Muhammed Kendirci, an apprentice worker, allegedly suffered a ruptured intestine after being subjected to a horrific act of violence involving a high-pressure air compressor.

The incident occurred last Friday at a workshop in Bozova, Sanliurfa, according to reports from Turkish media outlets relayed by The Sun. Initial investigations suggest Kendirci was forcibly restrained by two co-workers – identified as Habip Aksoy and another currently unnamed individual – before being subjected to the assault. The alleged attack is being described as a form of bullying or a twisted hazing ritual.

Details of the Gruesome Assault

Reports indicate that Kendirci’s hands were bound, and his trousers were removed before the air compressor was inserted and activated. The force of the compressed air allegedly caused catastrophic damage to his internal organs. Emergency medical personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene and rushed the teenager to Bozova Mehmet Enver Yildirim State Hospital. Recognizing the severity of his condition, he was quickly transferred to Balikligol State Hospital, and subsequently to the regional Harran University Research and Application Hospital for specialized care.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Kendirci succumbed to his injuries five days after the attack. Doctors confirmed the extent of the internal damage was unsurvivable.

Arrest and Investigation

Habip Aksoy was initially arrested following the incident but was briefly released under judicial supervision. This decision was swiftly overturned on appeal, leading to a new arrest warrant and his subsequent re-detention. A full investigation is underway to determine the extent of Aksoy’s and his accomplice’s culpability in Kendirci’s death. The investigation will likely focus on establishing intent and the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault.
