Thai Embassy Tehran: Urgent Evacuation Warning for Thais

The Thai Embassy in Tehran has issued a highest-level security alert, warning Thai nationals in Iran to prepare for immediate evacuation as the security situation becomes extremely fragile and risks of new attacks increase.

Fragile Ceasefire and Diplomatic Risks

In an announcement issued on April 14, the embassy stated that the current two-week ceasefire should not be viewed as a lasting peace. Officials described the present calm as a temporary pause intended for risk management and negotiations.

The embassy’s latest assessment suggests that talks between Iran and the United States are highly likely to fail. There is a significant possibility that a new round of violence could break out once the ceasefire ends or if negotiations collapse, with the potential for attacks to be more severe than previous incidents.

High-Risk Zones and Safety Instructions

Authorities have identified southern Iran as being in a critical and highly dangerous condition. This includes areas along the Persian Gulf coast and near the Strait of Hormuz, specifically mentioning Hormozgan, Bushehr, Khuzestan, and the city of Bandar Abbas.

Thai nationals are strictly instructed to avoid traveling to these high-risk southern areas. The embassy warned citizens not to let their guard down despite temporary improvements in the situation and to monitor updates from authorities closely.

To ensure readiness for immediate evacuation, the embassy has urged all Thai citizens in Iran to prepare passports, important documents, medicines, and emergency belongings. Individuals are also asked to ensure their embassy registration details are up to date for rapid emergency contact.

For those currently in Thailand, the embassy has mandated that all travel to the Islamic Republic of Iran be suspended in every case until further notice. The Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran remains available around the clock for Thai nationals facing emergencies.
