Prabowo Admits to Micromanaging Leadership Style
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto described himself as a micromanager during the Japan-Indonesia Business Forum in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday, March 30, 2026. He stated he feels guilty for being a leader overly concerned with details.
“I am a hands-on manager,” Prabowo said. He confirmed that his cabinet assistants also refer to him as a micromanager, admitting he sometimes calls ministers at 2 AM or 5 AM to inquire about the price of eggs.
Prabowo expressed regret over his leadership style, noting reports of exhaustion and medical treatment required by several ministers and senior officials as a result.
Trump Threatens Iran Desalination Plants
U.S. President Donald Trump again threatened to attack civilian infrastructure in Iran, including its desalination plants, on Monday. Experts say such actions would threaten the water supply for millions and constitute a war crime.
Trump regularly warns Iran about potential U.S. attacks on energy and power facilities, but recently added water stations to the list of potential targets.
“The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran,” Trump wrote in a social media post.
Prabowo Meets with South Korea’s Lee Jae-myung
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Cheong Wa Dae, also known as the Blue House. A live broadcast from Indonesia’s Presidential Secretariat showed the official state welcome ceremony for Prabowo’s arrival.
President Lee Jae-myung greeted Prabowo upon his arrival. The two leaders shook hands and embraced before participating in a state welcome ceremony, which included the playing of both countries’ national anthems.
Following the welcome ceremony, the two leaders introduced their respective delegations.
