Trump on Iran: White House Address & War Updates

The death toll in the US-Israel war against Iran has surpassed 5,000, according to reports compiled by various agencies.

Iran

At least 3,519 deaths have been recorded in Iran, according to US-based rights group HRANA, including 1,598 civilians and at least 244 children. The Red Cross and Red Crescent reported at least 1,900 deaths and 20,000 injuries from US-Israeli strikes, though it is unclear if this includes 104 people the Iranian military said were killed in a March 4 US attack on an Iranian warship off Sri Lanka.

Lebanon

In Lebanon, 1,318 people have died, including 124 children, Lebanese officials say. Israel launched strikes on Lebanon on March 2, and more than 400 Hezbollah fighters have been killed since then. At least nine Lebanese soldiers and three UN peacekeepers from Indonesia have also been killed in separate incidents.

Iraq

Iraqi health authorities report at least 107 deaths, including civilians, members of the Iran-affiliated Shi’ite Popular Mobilisation Forces, US-allied Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, police, army personnel, and a foreign crew member killed in an attack on tankers near an Iraqi port. A French soldier providing counterterrorism training was also killed in a drone attack.

Israel

Israel’s ambulance service reports 19 deaths from missiles launched from Iran and Lebanon. The Israeli military also says 10 of its soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon. An Israeli farmer died near the border on March 22 when Israeli forces misfired.

United States

Six US service members were confirmed dead after a military refuelling aircraft crashed in Iraq. Seven others were killed in action during operations in Iran, the US military has said.

Deaths have also been recorded in the United Arab Emirates (11), Qatar (7), Kuwait (7), The West Bank (4), Syria (4), Bahrain (2), Oman (2), and Saudi Arabia (2).
