Trump Threatens Khamenei’s Son: Iran Strike Risk?

President Donald Trump stated that the future leadership of Iran is uncertain following the reported death of its supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, despite reports that his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, has been appointed as the new leader.

Trump Questions Iran’s Next Leader

Trump made the remarks while speaking to Republican members of the House of Representatives in Florida.

“Their terrorist leaders are either already dead or counting the minutes until their death,” Trump said. “And now no one knows who will run the country.”

Trump has previously stated that Mojtaba Khamenei would be an unacceptable candidate to lead Iran, and insisted he should have a role in determining the country’s future leadership.

The president also suggested that American and Israeli forces could target Mojtaba Khamenei, saying that “if he doesn’t receive our approval, he won’t last long.”
