Eleven suspected Ukrainian drone parts were discovered along Estonia’s northern coast last week following attacks on Russian Baltic ports.

- The drones involved in these coastal finds were not in Estonian airspace.
The Internal Security Service (ISS/KAPO) reported that debris was found in 11 different places on the north coast, with some locations containing more than one part. Spokesperson Marta Tuul stated that it is assumed these drones are of Ukrainian origin and washed up on the coast.
Specific findings include debris located on April 12 on a beach in Kalvi, Viru-Nigula municipality. Further searches on April 16 uncovered additional parts in Turbuneeme, Harju County.
Impact of Baltic Port Attacks and Ukrainian Drone Parts
The recoveries follow Ukrainian attacks on Russia’s ports at Primorsk and Ust-Luga, which damaged infrastructure and halted oil exports. The Port of Ust-Luga is located approximately 30 kilometers from the Estonian border.
While many drones reached their targets, others have gone off course, landing in Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Last year, debris was also discovered on the western coasts of Estonia and Latvia.
Airspace Breaches and Diplomatic Requests
Despite the recent coastal findings not involving airspace violations, other drone activity has breached Estonian borders. Last month, a drone struck a chimney at the Auvere Power Plant, situated less than two kilometers from the Russian border.
One week later, several drones entered Estonian airspace, resulting in one crash in a field in Tartu County.
In response to these incidents, Estonian officials have asked Ukrainian counterparts to adjust their drone flight paths to avoid further breaches of Estonian airspace.
