Punggol Flat Death Investigation

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the police responded to a call for assistance from Block 306A Punggol Place at 12:05pm on Monday.

SCDF paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene after finding him motionless.

Preliminary investigations by the police do not suggest foul play, and the case is ongoing.

Wife’s Recent Passing

A resident on the same floor stated that the man and his wife had lived in the unit for approximately two years. She frequently saw them together.

“I took the elevator with the uncle last month and he told me that his wife had just died from cancer,” the resident said, adding that the man appeared healthy at the time.

The resident expressed shock and regret that the man died shortly after his wife.

Body Believed to be Four Days Old

Police cordoned off the fourth-floor unit on Monday, according to reports.

Officers were seen speaking with two individuals believed to be the deceased’s relatives.

A renovation worker told reporters that police arrived around noon and believed the man had been dead for about four days before being discovered.

The body was removed from the unit in a vehicle at 4pm.
