A Midrand couple faces more than 900 charges related to a child sexual trafficking ring, a Randburg Magistrates’ Court was informed. Darren Wilken and Tiona Moodley are accused of manufacturing and distributing over ten million copies of child sexual abuse material.
Child Sex Trafficking Charges
Following their arrest in January, Tiona Moodley was released on bail, while Darren Wilken remains in custody.
Magistrate Anna Oosthuizen stipulated a key condition of Moodley’s bail: she is prohibited from contacting her mother, who is now a State witness.
“Just for clarity, no contact with any of the State witnesses, and now it would also include your mother who is a State witness,” Oosthuizen said directly to Moodley.
The Magistrate warned Moodley to adhere strictly to her bail conditions, stating that any direct or indirect contact with witnesses could lead to her bail being revoked.
The couple is scheduled to return to court for trial at the High Court in February next year.
