A woman who was jailed for posting nude images of her father’s mistress has been recalled to prison, according to a Ministry of Justice source.
Revenge Posting Led to Initial Sentence
Eleanor Brown, 26, posted the photos on an escort website in what she described as a drunken act of revenge for an affair that nearly ended her parents’ marriage. She was encouraged by her mother and sister.
Brown, from Morley, West Yorkshire, was originally sentenced to three years in prison in October 2024, later reduced to two years on appeal.
Release and Recall
Described by a judge as ‘vindictive, selfish and vengeful’, Brown was released late last year on licence and fitted with an electronic ankle tag. She was recalled to prison last month, though the reason for the recall remains unclear.
Since her release, Brown has maintained she has no regrets, stating, “I’m not sorry and never will be sorry.” She has also frequently posted on social media about her experiences and conditions while incarcerated.
Social Media Posts from Prison
Brown recently posted on Instagram claiming she had been prevented from having “contact with the outside world” after being recalled to prison. It is currently unknown how she continues to access social media while in jail.
In her post, she pleaded with her mother to contact a solicitor, stating prison officials were refusing to facilitate communication. She also expressed frustration at being unable to make a legal call.
Background of the Affair
The affair between her father, Geoff Brown, a former police officer, and his mistress was discovered when Eleanor was 14 years old. Twelve years later, the situation resurfaced.
Eleanor’s mother, Sarah, reportedly sent sexual images of the mistress to her daughter, fueled by lingering resentment. Eleanor then used these images to create a profile on a sex-for-sale website, offering services for £5 and overnight stays for £10, resulting in numerous messages to the mistress and her husband.
Previous Court Ruling
In October 2024, the judge presiding over Brown’s case cited a “staggering” lack of remorse and “vindictive, selfish and vengeful behaviour” when handing down the initial three-year sentence.
Brown has since claimed she was “put in prison for a joke” and, while acknowledging she would “bin the phone” if she could redo the situation, reiterated she has no remorse.
She stated, “I think the moral of the story is that I am not sorry, never will be sorry, will never do it again.” She added that she has secured a job, housing, and a supportive personal life.
The advertisement posted on Viva Street included a picture of the mistress and the husband’s phone number, which received 14 texts and eight calls within half an hour of the ad being published.
The situation was reignited after Eleanor’s mother observed the mistress’s husband had established a successful new business. Eleanor, with the encouragement of her sister – a serving police officer at the time, though not charged – and mother, then began posting abusive messages on the business’s social media pages.
Brown later claimed she did not believe her actions would be considered revenge porn.
Police arrested Brown at her home a week after the fake profile was created. A Ministry of Justice spokesperson confirmed that offenders released on licence are subject to strict conditions and will be returned to prison if those conditions are violated.
