Ubisoft has released update 1.0.6 for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced across all supported platforms, introducing a long-awaited cosmetic option to hide Edward Kenway’s blowpipe alongside dozens of technical and gameplay fixes for PC and consoles following the game’s recent remake launch.
The latest patch for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced brings notable adjustments to the modernized pirate adventure, which was rebuilt from the ground up on an updated version of the Anvil engine. Thirteen years after the 2013 original first launched, this modernized edition has delivered enhanced tropical lighting, overhauled character models, and ray tracing. Yet, the release also brought performance hiccups and player feedback that update 1.0.6 aims to resolve.
Patch 1.0.6 Sizes, Platform Updates, and the Blowpipe Fix
Rolled out on August 4, 2026, the update varies significantly in file size depending on the hardware platform. According to Ubisoft’s official release details, the download requires 15.2 GB on Xbox Series X|S, 5.03 GB on PlayStation 5, 3.7 GB on PC via Uplay, and 1.8 GB on Steam.

The standout feature of this update directly addresses a frequent community request. Players can now remove the blowpipe from Edward Kenway’s back.
Playground noted via official Ubisoft patch notes that this brought a long-awaited change requested by many fans, with patch sizes of 15.2 GB on Xbox Series X|S, 5.03 GB on PlayStation 5, 3.7 GB on PC via Uplay, and 1.8 GB on Steam, noting that the main feature of the patch was the ability to hide the blowpipe on Edward Kenway’s model and that to put the weapon away, players simply need to go to the outfit selection menu and press R2 (or the corresponding button on PC) to select the option.
Beyond cosmetic customization, the update expands automatic save slots from 5 to 10, giving players greater flexibility to return to earlier progression points. On PC, the patch addresses a frustrating visual bottleneck by fixing an error that capped cutscenes at 30 FPS under low or custom graphics settings.
Gameplay, Parkour, and Combat Adjustments Across the Caribbean
Exploration and naval warfare have received substantial tuning. Ubisoft addressed parkour dead zones where Edward could previously become stuck—such as tight spaces between trees and walls in Kingston—and resolved a glitch that caused the protagonist to slide immediately after fast-traveling to a synchronized viewpoint. Combat mechanics are also tighter; elite enemies now attack head-on, and players can execute leg sweeps while in cautious or suspicious states.

Naval encounters benefit from a fix ensuring that enemy ship ramming properly damages the Jackdaw, while Edward’s orientation during sea battles has been calibrated so he consistently looks toward his target.
Easter Eggs, Community Secrets, and Side Content Discoveries
As players explore the remastered Caribbean, the community has continued unearthing hidden details. Observant players recently found a clever visual easter egg tucked inside the in-game database: the sheet music for sea shanties features the opening notes of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up
.
For completionists hunting down rare gear and late-game secrets, navigating side content requires specific routes. Finding Blackbeard’s hidden cache involves sailing north of Kingston to Annotto Bay at coordinates 590,244, eliminating guard vessels, and navigating underwater tunnels past jellyfish and sharks before detonating powder barrels to breach smuggler caves.
Similarly, acquiring the game’s rare silenced pistols requires trading specific materials with the treasure merchant on Great Inagua at coordinates 816,448. Players must barter 20 rum barrels, 4 iguana skins, and 3 capuchin monkey pelts—resources gathered via maritime plundering and island hunting.
