Tesla has begun recruiting for seven full-time positions in Argentina as of August 3, 2026, signaling the electric vehicle company’s official entry into the market. The company is seeking sales and technical talent in Buenos Aires and Munro to support the upcoming launch of its vehicle sales in the country.

Tesla is officially moving into Argentina. The company has published seven job openings aimed at capturing local talent to support the brand’s arrival. These roles are concentrated in the metropolitan area, specifically within the city of Buenos Aires and the locality of Munro in the province of Buenos Aires.

  • Commercial and Sales: Roles include Tesla Advisor (Sales), Associate Sales Manager, and Tesla Advisor (Delivery). These positions focus on assisting customers through the purchase and delivery process and providing after-sales advice.
  • Technical and Service: Roles include Service Advisor, Associate Service Manager, and Service Technician. These are geared toward professionals with experience in vehicle management, maintenance, and service team coordination.

Samantha Conti, a Senior Recruiter for Latam at Tesla, confirmed the expansion on social media, stating that the company is excited to announce our arrival to Argentina and is seeking people who want to make a positive impact on the world. All currently listed positions are for full-time employment.

Global Efficiency and the Employee Cut

This regional expansion arrives as Tesla manages a volatile global workforce. In a separate internal move, the company laid off more than 10% of its global staff, totaling thousands of employees out of a workforce of thousands. CEO Elon Musk framed these cuts as a necessary step to increase productivity and reduce costs ahead of a next phase of growth.

As part of this effort, we carried out a thorough review of the organization and made the difficult decision to reduce our workforce by more than 10% worldwide. There is nothing I hate more, but it has to be done. This will allow us to be efficient, innovative and eager for the next cycle of the growth phase. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla

Musk noted that the company’s rapid growth had led to certain job roles and functions being duplicated. While the company focuses on revolutionary technologies in AI, energy, and automotive, the workforce reduction coincided with rumors of potential cuts reaching 20% and shortened production shifts for the Cybertruck at Gigafactory Texas.

Labor Tension and the Buffalo Union Campaign

Tesla’s push for efficiency has not been without internal friction. In Buffalo, New York, employees sent a surprise letter to Musk announcing a campaign to form a union. The workers cited a need for better wages, job security, and a reduction in production pressures that they claim have harmed their health.

The tension in Buffalo highlights a stark contrast in management styles. Workers told Bloomberg News that Tesla monitors keystrokes to track active working time, leading some employees to avoid bathroom breaks to maintain their metrics. One union representative, Al Celli, stated that people are tired of being treated like robots.

The company’s response was swift. Only one day after the union campaign launched, Tesla fired more than 30 workers from the Autopilot department at the Buffalo plant. Additionally, employees received an email prohibiting the recording of workplace meetings without the permission of all participants.

Market Valuation and Corporate Strategy

Despite labor disputes, Tesla has maintained a dominant market position. By June 2022, it was classified as the world’s most valuable automotive brand. The company’s growth is evident in its delivery numbers, which reached record units in 2021 and continued to grow from the second quarter of 2022 despite global semiconductor shortages.

There is also growing speculation regarding the future structure of Musk’s empire. While Musk once described the ties between Tesla and SpaceX as really quite tenuous, Bloomberg reports that as of July 2026, many longtime investors view a merger between the two companies as a foregone conclusion.

For now, the immediate focus remains on the Southern Cone. The arrival of Tesla in Argentina represents a significant shift in the local automotive sector, promising new employment opportunities in a market increasingly interested in sustainability and electric mobility.
