New Delhi – Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has moved to the Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court’s decision to refuse the transfer of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case related to the excise policy. This action follows a similar plea filed by former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

Kejriwal Challenges High Court Decision

The Delhi High Court’s Chief Justice had previously rejected Kejriwal’s request to transfer the CBI case from Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma. The court dismissed the plea seeking the transfer of the case, citing no valid reason for such a move.

Kejriwal, along with Sisodia, is facing allegations of irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi excise policy. The CBI is investigating the matter.

The High Court also dismissed a similar plea filed by Sisodia seeking the transfer of the case. Both leaders are now seeking relief from the Supreme Court.

The excise policy case has been a point of contention, with the CBI alleging significant financial irregularities and corruption. The investigation is ongoing, and the Supreme Court will now hear Kejriwal’s challenge to the High Court’s decision.
