Bridie Healy nee Dixon of Co. Mayo passes away peacefully at home

Bridie Healy (nee Dixon) of Bunowna, Glenamoy, Ballina, Co. Mayo and formerly of Cornhill, Pullathomas, Ballina passed away peacefully at her residence on 6th October 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Bridie Is Survived by Her Husband and Children

Bridie was predeceased by her parents James and Mary Dixon, her infant baby sister Mary, her brothers Patrick, Jimmy, John, Tony, Paul, and Michael, and her baby daughters.

She is deeply mourned by her loving family, including her husband Michael and her son Michael, who is married to Maureen from Gorthbrack. Her daughters Caroline, married to Ruairí O Donnell from Porturlin, and Geraldine, married to Stephen Staunton from Sligo, also survive her. Additional surviving family members include her brother Tom from Cornhill, and her sisters Nancy Holland from Galway and Evelyn McCarthy from the USA. She leaves behind her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and several grandchildren: Nicole, Aaron, Ciara, Ruairí, Bróna, Matthew and Grace. Her family circle extends to her great-grandchildren Tadhg and Fiadh, alongside numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, friends, and neighbours.

Funeral Mass Follows Reposing at Home

Mourners may pay their respects as her remains repose at her home, designated by the EIRCODE F26 X3H3, on Thursday, 8th October, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The house will remain private outside of these designated visiting hours.

Following the reposing, the funeral cortege will travel to Christ The King Church in Aughoose, bearing the EIRCODE F26 XC57, on Friday, 9th October. Funeral Mass will commence at 12 noon. Burial will take place immediately afterward at Pullathomas Cemetery.

Family Requests Donations to Western Alzheimers

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be directed to Western Alzheimers.
